Daikin VRV Heat Recovery Air Conditioning System
Client: Sykes & Sons for City of London School
Completion: May 2020
Project: 6th Floor exam rooms require air conditioning for cooling and heating control
Duration: 11 days on site
WM Air Conditioning recently installed a Daikin VRV heat recovery air conditioning system that will control five classrooms with independent cooling and heating.
Each room had a wall mounted indoor fan coil positioned at high level, controls for each unit are via Daikin's new Madoka controller that uses an app function through Bluetooth so rooms can be set and adjusted with a mobile device.
The Daikin condenser mounted on the roof adjacent to the rooms, with the heat recovery option, the system requires a BS selector box that individually controls each room. Because of the flat roof and no ceiling void, a position for the BS box was placed outside next to the condenser. WM designed a weather housing purpose made for this installation, this allowed easy pipework and electrical access plus weather integrity.
